Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the leak detection pump on this 2006 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7 liter V6 engine. It's the same part and process on these vehicles from 2004 to 2006. The items you'll need for this repair include a new leak detection pump from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, a flat blade screwdriver, and a vice helps but isn't necessary.

Your leak detection pump is located right here. You want to start off by removing these two 10mm nuts. We'll just fast-forward as Don does this. Then, using a flat blade screwdriver, pry that red clip down and pull the harness free. Then pull the hoses free. Just move them back and forth and eventually they'll pull free. Now, you don't need to use a vice here, but this bracket can be pretty hard to get out of here. You just need something to secure it while you pull it free.

On the right is the old leak detection pump; on the left is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and will mount exactly the same.

Push the bracket onto your new leak detection pump. Reattach the two hoses. Then push the detection pump back up onto those studs. We'll just fast-forward as Don replaces those two 10mm nuts and tightens them up. Reconnect your harness and push the red clip up, and you're all set.
